Josias is loving preschool with Oma. This last week they read Corduroy and then made a bear out of paper and sewed on a button. Josias loved the sewing so much he did two buttons. This boy is growing up so fast.IMG_0636 IMG_0632

E is a bundle full of energy. I made him the sweater below and tried to get a picture. He had no interest in posing and was off on adventures in Oma and Opa’s backyard. IMG_0590

We celebrated E turning two, by getting balloons and hanging out near Liberty Market. Josias loved getting a balloon as well and showing E all sorts of fun hiding spots. This past week was hard as Joe, E and I were at youth camp and Josias spent his time with Oma & Opa. We are all back and glad to be together.IMG_0401

The birthday boy, happy, energetic and full of life! He declares he is “5” not “2”. He also wants to do everything brother does. It is a privilege and a blessing to be this little man’s mom.

Life with these two is never boring or slow.

Josias is growing in leaps and bounds. He talks so much and his imaginary play is beautiful. He loves playing outside and found the hat bin to be his choice this week. He also loves goofing off with daddy. He even took a picture of Joe all by himself.

The little guy is all smiles and loves to do everything big brother does, so of course he liked hats this week too! He also is into saying cheese with a big smile. He brings so much joy to this mommy’s heart.

basketball & boys

Joe and I discovered the boys moved the basketball hoop to a better location for them. Josias then demonstrated with the small football.

New Year, new 1 of 52

A new year brings back a goal I tried a while back. I really want to learn how to shoot my camera better and what better way than to have a goal of taking a picture of my boys each week. The second shot for each of the boys was taken in manual. An old friend of the family is teaching moms how to take better pictures with their cameras. So I am once again trying manual mode.

My oldest, Josias, is learning to be a big boy. He loves riding his balance bike everywhere, even inside the house. He is so good that he flies around the fire place causing me a few mini heart attacks. Thankfully the worst accident so far is just falling over. He loves playing cars and his Nana & Papa got him a new noisy one for Christmas.

My extremely happy boy is growing up so fast. I want him to slow down, but his latest mantra is “I do myself”. He loves going on walks and contrary to this picture spends most his time walking not riding. He loves everything his brother does and is building trains from the duplos. Life is never boring when he is awake.

Preschool with Oma

Preschool with Oma

The first Wednesday began with the big boy starting preschool with Oma! My mom retired in August and expressed a desire to do preschool with J and his cousin. Schedules didn’t work so for now J gets Oma’s full attention on Wednesday morning. After a cautious start, J loved it. Oma read him a book a few times and they discussed it page by page. Then was art and craft time. This week was painting and he doesn’t have an art smock yet, so Oma had him take off his shirt. After doing this he asked Oma if she was going to take off her shirt. Little kids, I explained only boys take off their shirts. He loved painting and cried when Oma wrapped up the morning and left. J is very excited about preschool now. I had to include the outtakes.

Recover

I got this chair over a year ago with a beautiful desk to create a me corner in this house. It sat undisturbed and unused in storage. I decided to continue work again on my me space and discovered the vinyl to be cracked and nasty looking.

I took a quick trip to Jo-Ann’s and found beautiful material that looked tan in the store and in my home more like gray. It is now at my desk and I just need to clean my desk.

For a bonus, here is my little man looking handsome. He definitely got his daddy’s eyes.

6 months of joy

It has been a wonderful 6 months since this little guy joined our family. He is ludicrously happy (smiling at anyone who will give him any attention), very wriggly, good eater, okay sleeper, explores, likes remotes and loves his big brother (mummy & daddy aren’t bad either).

His stats: 18 lbs 3.5 oz. , 27 in. and 17 in head circumference

week 18 of 52 (catching up)

It has been a while. Balancing two is very hard for me. We are just starting to find a rhythm to the day. It seems every time I try and take a picture of babyE, babyJ photo bombs. Thankfully little brother doesn’t mind.

BabyJ doesn’t like his picture taken most of the time. We went to the lake in our neighborhood to capture 2 year old pictures and had a fun time, but didn’t the picture I had in mind.

BabyE was such a good sport about the whole photo shoot. He still doesn’t mind his mummy taking pictures.
