Some weeks are just more difficult with a 4 year old. Josias can be content and happy or down in the depths of sadness. Usually when Daddy is around he is very happy. This week Josias told me that when he went to heaven to be with Jesus, he would become a red dragon. This explained, why he has been refusing to change out of his red shirt for 3 days. Thankfully, Daddy convinced him that being a blue dragon would be really cool. IMG_2150

E is full of energy and either ridiculously happy or throwing a full on temper tantrum. He is obsessed with yogurt right now and will eat plain whole milk yogurt in massive quantities and a few weeks ago cried for 20 minutes because he thought the grocery clerk had not put his yogurt in the cart. Thankfully, I figured out what he was saying and let him clutch his yogurt the whole car ride home.IMG_2202Joy continues to be a pretty easy. She sleeps well for a newborn and only fusses when hungry, needs a new diaper or overly tired.

Josias is such a lovey and is enjoying color cards for his cousins birthday. Some days he is more creative and draws people, cakes, cars, other days, he just scribbles. The second week of being stuck at home is taking its toll. Josias is a little stir crazy and has been caught jumping on the bed and sofa. IMG_2099 E is having a hard time as well being stuck at home every day. He has enjoyed hanging out with Nana and Oma this week. He loves drawing with markers and gets excited when I will actually let him have them. IMG_2115 Joy is sleeping well for a newborn. She did give us one exhausting night by nursing or needing to be bounced from about 7pm until 11pm. All the next day, she slept really well and hopefully will not continue to repeat.joy I had Joe snap this photo of me on photo shoot day, because I rarely put on all my makeup. I am enjoying having a girl and picking out pretty things.IMG_2053

Life with boys

two little monkies jumping on the bed, one fell off and bumped his head. Momma called the Dadda and the Dadda kicked the monkies out of the room.

These two love to wrestle, jump on my bed or sofa (when I am not there or occupied nursing a little girl), tackle, etc. Life here is never still and I am learning to let the boys deal with the non harmful injuries.

This week is all about Joy. Josias is so happy to be an older brother again and loves his baby sister. He asks daily to hold her. Josias is ecstatic about Daddy being home and getting lots of time with him.IMG_2009E also loves his baby sister and tries to comfort her when she cries. He brings her his Pooh bear, pats her head, and tries to give her a pacifier.
IMG_1995IMG_1983Joy is wonderful. She sleeps very well at night and most nights include a 4 hour stretch between feeds, but she likes to party from about 7:30 to 10 pm every night. IMG_1972It is a blessing having Joe be able to take off a week of work. He keeps the boys busy, holds Joy, lets me sleep, feeds us, etc. IMG_1973

Bringing Joy home

July 9th was a wonderful. hot Arizona day to take home our little bundle of Joy. She loved her dress and Joe and I were ready to sleep in our own bed and be a family of 5! She did great in her first car ride and slept the entire way home.

Josias is getting so big. He got to have his own sparkler this year and helped Opa light the fireworks. Josias is also loving to swim now. After many times in the pool he no longer clings to Joe or I and understands the floaty keeps his head above water. IMG_18854th of July was a blast, E loved the flags, most of the food (still wont eat watermelon) and the cheesecake! He liked singing happy birthday to America and was scared of the fire works. E is learning to like water and will get in the pool and play with goggles, floaty and Mom or Dad. He holds on, but is enjoying it more.

We had a wonderful 4th and can’t wait to celebrate it with sister next year.IMG_1813 The biggest news of the week was to have Joy join us on Daddy’s birthday, July 7th. It was a blessing to all. We can’t wait to get to know her. joy

39 weeks

This pregnancy may trump Josias’ in brutality. I have been around sick kids or family or sick myself a lot of it. I have had multiple ultrasounds due to belly measuring small. Thankfully, every ultrasound, Minnie measures big and healthy. We are all excited to welcome a baby girl into the family. The boys have me read “The Baby Sister” by Tomie dePaola almost everyday. They have both asked if she will have a red ribbon in her hair just like the book. IMG_1799

Josias was so weak and sick that he didn’t want to eat lunch, he just wanted to rest. I asked if he wanted to lay on Mommy and Daddy’s bed and with no words went and laid down. He was out in less than 15 minutes. It is hard to see this boy sick, but I am glad he got a lot of rest.IMG_1780

E is two and crazy. He is very strong willed in a smiley way. His tantrums are epic and he pretty much never stops moving.

Josias, my helper, he is really stepping into big brother role and trying to rinse dishes, bring me stuff, turn on the AC in the car, carry in groceries, etc. He is very excited to meet baby sister and help mommy with her. IMG_1776 E, is double trouble and very much two! He has thrown many tantrums over not getting his way. The other day he scared me by scaling my bookcase to get something that I thought was out of his reach. Needless to say, I am going to have to baby proof my house for this boy. IMG_1771

Josias’ imagination is wonderful to watch. He asked for me to make a hat so he could be a pirate. IMG_1752 E loves playing with brother and of course smiling.IMG_1763
