Backward hat day for the boys, unfortunately, I only got E.
Dressing up Joy is so much fun. She likes to pull up her shirt or dress, which means she gets lots and lots of raspberries! She enjoyed her first baby sitting by the Millers. She slept almost the entire time for them.

Josias modeling the mess that is our backyard. Laundry day means lots of clothes on the line. Josias loved preschool with Oma this week where he danced to Mariachi music, learned about Mexico and made a pinata.E joined Josias for preschool and loved it! He also loves getting water for himself from the refrigerator. This usually leaves quite a mess of water which he is learning to clean up! He is even so talented to have got a cup stuck in the water dispenser.
Fiesta Time!!!

Josias started another year of Cubbies! He was very excited and had his verse memorized well before Wednesday. It is wonderful watching him hiding God’s word in his heart. Josias is also taking on the role of big brother so well. He comforts sister when she is crying, giving her the pacifier when necessary, fetches clothes for E and puts away toys. He also stepped up to a bigger balance bike this week. He instructed E on how to use the smaller balance bike. E was very excited to get his brother’s balance bike. He declared that mommy can’t help him, he is a big boy. When daddy arrived home, E showed off his new skill and was thrilled to go for a walk/bike ride after dinner. In other news, E learned how to give “raspberries” and delivered mommy and sister many on tummy, arms, legs, etc. E was excited about Cubbies, but didn’t understand until Josias was dropped off that he was not going. I told him that we would get special time this year.
Joy turned 2 months and is a continual blessing to our family. She loves getting raspberries from E, held by all, talking with mommy, smiling and sleeping.

Joy is 2 months old! She has taken a bottle like a champ, visited the zoo, gone for numerous walks in the neighborhood, experienced the Ergo, slept in the nursery for nap time, and attended Mommy’s book club (the only one allowed to come and not read the book 😉 ).

We spent the weekend at Oma and Opa’s house while Joe served at FUSE, a weekend in town retreat for the youth at Redemption Gateway. Josias enjoyed putting on Opa’s golf green in the backyard and playing in their tree house. Josias also loved playing with new puzzles, a digger, a dump truck, the alphabet, and a dinosaur one. After quickly putting them together he disassembled and helped E put them together.
E loves anything Josias likes, so puzzles have been in high demand. E goes about putting together puzzles by searching for a particular piece. He doesn’t want help from mommy and will start crying in frustration if he can’t find the specific piece he needs.
Joy is very alert and prefers cooing and staring than sleeping. She spent many nights wide awake until 11 pm. That caused mommy and sometimes daddy to be very tired the next day. Hopefully the late night bed time is short.

Josias learned about penguins and the North Pole this week. He loved all the books Oma read to him, but playing with penguins in snow was the best. E participated with Josias. He loved having the penguins slide on the ice.
Joy was sweet as ever and let me dress her in a vintage dress. Having a little girl is so much fun! She also took her first bottle like a champ.

Josias enjoying his scissors. He cuts out dinosaurs, lions and dragons. He has also had fun looking on a map where athletes are from in the Olympics. We also found ourselves and where Uncle Jon & Aunt Layne live.
I forgot to take a picture of E. He is enjoying playing “volleyball” and watching the Olympics as well.
Joy is doing great! She is doing better at sleeping and growing so fast. She is almost out of her 3 month clothing!

Josias’ imaginative play is in full force. He is playing a rhinoceros with his dinosaur tail. He also loves being a bird with his play silks. When he is a bird he doesn’t respond to his name, only to bird. He even “caws” instead of talking, because birds don’t talk.
E has the most amazing eyelashes. He loves to play with Dad and Josias. He follows them around everywhere even into the bathroom, except when Josias locks him out.
Joy continues to be very easy going. She loves to be held and sleeps for a very long time when one of us holds her. She is also my first that takes a pacifier! She likes Larry, the giraffe a lot (his name is courteous thanks to Joe when Josias was a baby).
Joe wasn’t feeling well the other day and the two littles wanted to sleep with him. Joe is amazing as always with the addition of Joy.
