Josias is into making little books, he uses his scissors to make small pieces of paper and then writes random letters and numbers. He is currently obsessed with number 5. Also, he is back to wanting to read “Where the Wild Things Are”. The nap time after my reading him it a few times, E disturbed him. In response, Josias told us E tried to wake him up and he scared E away with his terrible claws. _mg_7426E is crazy cuddly when he first wakes up in the morning, right after his nap and when he is sick. This week he cuddled a lot with us and woke me up at 4:30am and 5:30am two different mornings to cuddle and “sleep”. In E’s spare time, he is trying to master the tongue curl._mg_7391Joy is trying to sit up. She loves being propped up and watching everyone. She sat at the dinner table on Thanksgiving day and lasted the entire time. It was joked she wanted to eat the scrumptious feast. _mg_7403

Josias has learned how to pump up his bike. Unfortunately that means near every time he uses it, his bike “needs more air.” This of course translates into “brother’s needs air too” which then proceeds into a chase as Josias tries to catch E’s bike to pump it up. Also due to still strengthening muscles, the ‘pumping’ of air usually results in loss of air pressure.46ofjosiasWe have found E’s new motto, anything you can do, I can do better. He is very determined that he is bigger, better than Josias. E can find the snake faster at the zoo, throw the ball farther, drive his bike up and down the driveway, be the lion that comes and eats Daddy, and/or even come out of his room and go potty on the toilet (not that he actually will).46ofe Joy is much loved by her brothers. when left on the ground or chair there is not much time until they are fighting to ‘see’ her (head directly over hers), tickle her, put in the binkie, or just gift her with toys for her pleasure.46ofjoy

Josias watched the yard men trim our palm trees. He was fascinated to see them climb up the palm trees and trim the fronds. He was very proud of his one sock. I am not sure what is so great about wearing one sock, but he is sporting the look. We also have been working on abcs. Josias asked for his dry erase board and wrote many s’s and t’s. He then asked how to right his name and practiced a few times. img_3573 E is loving magna blocks right now. He builds many different structures and shapes. This is his sun with rays going off. It looks similar to his stars. E also tried to teach Joy to suck on her thumb. Thankfully, he was not successful.img_3586 Joy is such a chunky baby, she has a neck roll, leg rolls, arm rolls and a yummy tummy. This past week she discovered how to move the water in the bathtub. She thumped her legs like usual except that I was giving her a bath. The water would slosh and splash, which made Joy giggle, smile, giggle and then thump again.img_3730

Josias loves rain. He was inspired this time to reenact a chapter from “Winnie the Pooh”, in which Pooh floats in an umbrella. Josias however did not like it when the current began to sweep away Pooh.44ofjosias

E is very attached to his new backpack. He biked with it, played at the park with it and biked home with it. Another thing he has been doing is “pausing” books. It is very cute to hear him ask you to pause your reading. 44ofe

We have a new nickname for Joy, Thumper.  She loves to pick up her legs and slam them down into the bed, making a thumping sound. Some night she does this a lot and it is hard to sleep. She also had her first all night of sleep, 10:30 pm to 7:15 am! Mommy felt wonderful the next day and Joy seemed to enjoy the night of sleep.44ofjoy

A week of craziness over here. Josias and E have been wrestling a lot and disagreeing over little things, like a duplo rabbit. Josias is my thinker and introvert. He loves sitting outside on a rock. Both boys loved eating outside on vacation and I enjoyed not having the mess, that Joe went and got us chairs and a table. The boys now spend most their time outside. Josias got a frisbee at Joe’s work picnic and found new ways to use it. I have seen it be a plate, a mold and of course a frisbee.43ofjosiasE is always ready with a smile. He is so full of energy and life. He is very loving yet throws the biggest tantrums. He dotes on his sister and has taken over the carseat next to her. He cuddles with me and wants to hold me or Joe a lot. If he doesn’t get his way sometimes, he then throws full body tantrums and really can’t be reasoned with. I know it must be a stage, but it is really hard to watch. 43ofeJoy is living up to her name. She loves people, her brothers, Daddy and Mommy. She coos and babbles a lot. She is getting big and sometimes wears 9 month clothing! She is learning to sleep better and enjoy the ergo.43ofjoy

We went on an adventure with the Heller family to Oceanside. Josias did amazing on both car rides. He didn’t have an accident on the way there and only one on the way home. He also has mastered throwing up in a cup! Josias loved being next to the beach and wearing a sweater! He got very sandy and spent the majority of the time not in the water. We ate breakfast every morning on the patio to enjoy the salt water air. We went to the San Diego Zoo and Legoland, different days of course. Josias loved the helicopter near the Polar bears as well as playing in the “ice caves”.42ofjosiasE once again loved the beach. He played in the water and loved when Daddy took him out farther in the ocean. E loved his first roller coaster ride. He laughed and put up his hands and laughed more. Joe is excited to introduce him to more roller coaster rides when E is taller. We had many early mornings with E as he woke up at the crack of dawn wanting to play at the beach. Mommy didn’t appreciate it. 42ofelisha Joy loved the crashing waves and slept very well at night with her God created sound machine. I forgot to take a picture of Joy enjoying her first time at the beach. She is giggling and jabbering a lot lately. We all love having her and dote on her a lot. img_3367_edit

Josias was excited to celebrate our family turning 7. He wanted to eat chocolate cake. We also explained that we became a family in 2009. img_2985 E liked the cake and singing happy birthday to our family. img_2988Joy keeps getting cuter and cuter.

Joe convinced the boys to go shirtless. It is nice in that their shirts are no longer mud and sand. We had a huge rainstorm Sunday and the boys ran outback in the church clothes. A few seconds later, I striped them down into swim shorts and diaper. I love the boys playing outside, just don’t like cleaning or throwing away nice church clothes. They loved the rain and getting wet.img_2849 Joe also introduced the boys to the “Lion sleeps tonight” and “The Eye of the Tiger”. They dance in their shorts and E has taken to be a lion. img_2856Joy found her thumb/pointer finger this week and enjoyed sucking on it. She also likes getting out of her swaddle. joy

Josias doesn’t like naps, but is very tired by the end of the day. I am hoping to convince him of the wonders of naps.josiasE has lots of bruises, the shiner above his eye is from standing to close the the welder of the bat smashing the pinata.e Joy continues to amaze. She is so happy and loves all the attention she gets from her brothers.joy
