Joe took it after Josias’s 2nd hair cut. It is not very accurate of my little boy that gets into a bundle of trouble. Here he is serene and almost angelic. However, that is far from the truth of last week. It started Tuesday with Josias getting into a drawer that is a no-no and throwing an empty glass baby food jar on the tile. It shattered on impact and then my little boy proceeded to get a closer look before getting hijacked by mummy. He spent the next 10 minutes crying in his crib as I cleaned up the dangerous mess. Then Wednesday came and Josias threw his first temper tantrum in a store. I wouldn’t let him walk around playing with all the wonderful glass Christmas ornaments at Michael’s! Imagine that, baby J laying prone on the floor at the check out line wailing. Needless to say I was very embarrassed. Oh, a mummy moment I never wanted to experience, now checked off. To top off the week Thursday morning came. No real words describe well what unfolded. In old jeans and t-shirt I went out back sans Josias to hang clothes to dry. Josias who is obsessed with the great outdoors was not very happy and made a point to wail at the door the entire time it took me to hang the laundry. I came back to come inside and discovered something very horrible. Josias had locked the door!!! I was stuck outside and he inside. The wailing continued as I tried to have Josias recreate moving the lock. To no avail, no cell phone and no house key (as a side I have always thought it unsafe to keep a hide a key). My mind went into solving mode. Surely one of the neighbors I know well were home. Knock, knock, no answer. Oh, great. What to do?!? My son is wailing and destroying the house while I am stuck out here. Calm down… think… There is a truck out front, I heard he works from home sometimes, oh please be the day. I re-met my neighbor Terry at 8:15 am in the morning with a plea to use a phone. He laughed really hard when I told him what happened. Thankful, he has kids (older) and understood. Joe picked up a random phone number and was on his way home to rescue me. When I went to back to the house to wait I found Josias reading on the settee. Having a little boy is exciting! Now I take a key with me whenever I step out of the house. I am guessing we have many more crazy adventures ahead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
I couldn’t resist sharing this picture.
