Week 8 of 52

J loved his time at the riparian and nature journal what he saw. He enjoyed trying to draw birds, look for rabbits, spy lizards, etc. He savors his time to observe and contemplate by himself.

E is kind and let’s Joy participate with him in school and other activities. He is so attentive to her and takes care of her so well.

Joy enjoyed seeing rabbits at the riparian. She did try drawing, but enjoyed more observing animal life and really wanted to pick the flowers.

week 7 of 52

J started golfing again with my dad. He did very well on the driving range. He almost hit the ball collector! After hitting almost a whole basket, he wanted to practice his putting as well. The best part was he dressed so sharp in a teal polo tucked into khaki short with a nice belt and his Army baseball cap from his Opapa. He got lots of compliments from Opa and Mommy that he wore the polo the next day as well.

E has been working on his complimenting skills. He excitedly talked about eating the yummy meal mommy had made. Almost every night, he thanked both mommy and dadda for a wonderful meal. This is after he would complain that we never have “fill in the blank”. We would reply, by asking if he wanted that and it would be put into next weeks menu.

E celebrated a momentous occasion on Saturday. He lost his third tooth and actually found it!

Joy spent lots of time cuddling

week 6 of 52

J is growing his art skills and drawing the things he loves; Yoshi, Piglet, dinosaurs, Star Wars, etc. He also is climbing a lot. At our co-op hike, he foraged a new trail by rock climbing up the front of the mountain.

E loves hiding God’s word in his heart. In December he finished his regular book and his extra credit book in Awana’s. They have tried to find more verses for him and he is back to memorizing as much as possible.

Joy rode a big girl bike this week! She kept saying “I am doing it”, “I am a big girl”, “that was cool”. She had a few tumbles and got back up and wanted to go again and again. She finally took a break when she and the truck met.

week 5 of 52

Bounty hunter

J discovered skate board parks. He took his scooter and loved going around the whole park. He even climbed down into a deep concrete pit to walk around.

E is obsessed with Mario. He bought more Mario legos with his saved money. His favorite character is Mario. He is also doing Mario typing program that his Dadda did back in the day. He is also trying to play Mario music on the piano.

Caring for her lost, but now found sheep

Joy is so bouncy. Recently, her cousin pointed out she is like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. This was very apparent on a walk where the slowest she would go is zigzag trotting. She of course told me she is Kanga, because she is a girl.

Another recent development is singing along to music. On a recent car ride she sang the entire worship song, Hallelujah. It was sweet to listen to her.

week 4 of 52

J spent the week playing The Man from Snowy River. The plus side of good quality movies, is the imitation of gentlemanly behavior. He wore his cowboy hat and road his invisible mountain horse.

E had his first flag football game. He loves it! He was so excited he missed grabbing the flag of his opponent as he went right past him. The mouth guard was awkward, but I am guessing after a few games he will be okay with it.

Joy continues to be her own stylist and opinionated about her clothes. She loves purple, pink, shiny things and bright colors. Her least favorite color is white. She loves trampoline parks and is still wearing her wrist band from the last time we went.

Week 3 of 52

Josias still loves soccer, he had his last soccer camp and then a party. He also joins Joe and I sometimes for P90X3. We have to work on form, but he is gaining muscles!

Elisha turned 7!!! He is getting so big and obsessed with Mario and reading.

Joy loves helping out. She loved helping Dadda with de-boning a pork shoulder. She doesn’t mind getting dirty and will be much better than me at dissecting labs.

Week 2 of 52

I forgot to get a picture of Josias. We had an interesting week with the boys quarantining because of an exposure to COVID19. Josias did really well spending lots of time outback. After a week, we snuck down to the greenbelt and the boys practiced catching and throwing the football.

Elisha loved having Dadda working from home and we got to do lots of science. Elisha likes science and was observing how both balls fell together.

Joy attended her first birthday party, just her. We then got on a plane to visit Aunt Heather and family. Joy was very excited and buckled up Bunny as well.

Happy New Year!

I saw this quote and made it my January letter board greeting. It was an interesting 2020 and 2021 is gearing up to be a wild ride as well.

I am back blogging, as it keeps me taking pictures more often. I realized I need to have something that is mine and not get overwhelmed in the wife, mother, teacher, house cleaner, cook, etc. I enjoy taking pictures and especially of my kids. They are growing up so fast.

My theme for this year is “Life is Beautiful!” Joe talked about that movie at one point in 2020 and it struck me, that I can make my little home a beautiful life, even when everything else is crazy.
