Christmas 2012

An eventful year for us, we became three.

Joe is a project manager in training at T.Y. Lin and soon will be licensed to practice in two states, Arizona and California. He also made a trip to Mozambique to see his brother.

Evie is working full time as a mummy to Josias, decorating the home and learning the art of homemaking.

Josias is a good bubby, loves eating, especially solids. He is very relaxed and still shows no inclination to crawl or walk.

Phoenix Zoo

I am very thankful for all my wonderful friends and family for taking care/hanging out with me while Joe was gone. On Wednesday, a friend from church treated Josias and I to the zoo. Josias will not remember anything, but he saw an elephant, an orangutan, giraffes, longhorn cattle and a baby zebra before he slept in the Ergo.

4 months (late)

My little baby boy is growing so fast. At his 4 month appointment, he was 26.5 inches long and 15.8 lbs! He is pretty happy most the time.  He loves people and happily goes to anyone that will hold him.

Nana necklace

For Vicki’s birthday this year, we got her a Grandma necklace with a crystal for each grandchild’s birthday!  I love my Mom’s bracelet that has a charm for each grand kid and wanted Vicki to be able to show off her grand kids similarly.  Josias’s crystal is the clear one as April’s gemstone is a diamond.

my new addiction

Parenthood has changed me, I finally have succumbed to my parents addiction to coffee.  I think I finally understand why so my parents love it, the caffeine rush!  I have never been a morning person, but I made it through college with early classes, by going to bed early.  My working years at a full time job, I also just went to bed earlier.  But parenthood changed all the rules.  Josias doesn’t sleep on my schedule, but on his.  He needs food at night, I must oblige and wake up to feed him.  The past 15 weeks have been a huge lesson in selflessness.  I love my sleep.  Thankfully a cup of coffee brightens up my morning and I am ready to go!

My preference is sweetened, iced and with coconut milk. yum!

4th of July

For Josias’s 1st Independence day, my Mom and I took him shopping at Chandler mall and she got him the most adorable outfit to celebrate the day in.  Unfortunately he slept most the day.  In the late afternoon, we went to Opa’s house to swim and eat.  While we were waiting for Josias to wake up, Mom held miss Greta in her special 4th outfit.  One of the best parts of the day was tons of rain!  Check out the wonderful temperature. Yes, it was less than 80 degrees!!!

Before we ate, Dad had all the adults read the declaration of Independence and sign our names next to those who stood before us.

I couldn’t resist putting a few pictures of the sleeping boy with his lovey.

Josias finally entered the land of the awake to take a picture with his cousin miss Greta & Oma.

We finished up the night with our own private fireworks show put on by Opa.  Josias didn’t quite know what to think of the loud noises and bright lights of backyard fireworks.  He didn’t cry, which was quite nice.

3 Months

Our little boy is getting so big! He weighed in at 14 lbs 3 oz and measured 26 1/8 in long! I am loving him more and more each day.  He also discovered how to sleep on arriving at 3 months.  He has slept 8 or more hours since Monday night!!! I can’t wait to see what new things he can do and will discover.

I tried to imitate my 3 month photo, since so many people say he looks like me.  What do you think? Is he a Lewis?
